I use 1 part vinegar to two parts distilled water.. I use it in the nebulizer for about two minutes then soak the parts in the vinegar/water solution for about 20 minutes. Finally, I rinse parts with distilled water and air dry. I only do this once a week. Other times I rinse parts with distilled water only.

I soak every other in dish soap water then air dry. Weekly heat clean in microwave using a special bag provided by my daughter (ID specialty nurse.) Same with my airway clearance device. This was approved by my pulmonologist and ID doc. I was also instructed by respiratory therapy to replace neb parts and hoses every 3-6 months depending on frequency of use.

I use cleaning strenth vinegar. It is stronger than reg vinegar. At the 2016 World NTM confetence in DC, it was stated that some mac strains are resistant to chlorine bleach. That is why so many swimming pools have mac in them. I would think alcohol would be good also.

Do you get your neb supplies from insurance or buy your own. Every time I order supplies they send a mask along with the standard container and charge for it.

I buy my own on line. I had to look for a while but finally found the individual parts without the mask. NO cheaper than the prepackaged, but avoiding some non-biodegradable waste.

I go to our hospital medical supply. I do not buy the mask. They bill insurance and I pay a couple of bucks.
