High temperature, heart rate, and chills associated with mental health

So long story short, for the past 11 years i've been in and out of the hospital for 103 temperature, 120+ heart rate, chills, shaking and some other minor things. The doctors in both the hospital and my regular doctors office have run almost every test available with no answer. Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone in here for possible mental health issues? Anyone else have something similar? I have been trying to google to see if any connections but would love to hear straight from those who maybe dealing with the same issues. You would think after 11 years of ER visits that someone would suggest mental health which leads me to believe maybe its not. Just looking for some guidance.

Thanks! I think an Auto Immune Spec. is about the only doctor I probably haven't seen yet. I just wish one test would come back with some sort of answer or lead us to answer.

@rjdavis031 Have you seen an endocrinologist yet . He deals with all your hormones. Maybe he could help might just be a hormone problem

No I haven't seen that kind of doctor yet. I keep hearing the doctors wanting to find the cause of the high temperature instead of all the symptoms combined. Not sure if there is a purpose behind just looking at one symptom or what.

@rjdavis031 I was rereading your post again and the fact that you have been battling this condition for over 11 years without many answers. It's good that you are asking questions and being a strong advocate for yourself. I still believe when you have a really difficult to diagnosis health condition there is no other place I would rather go than Mayo Clinic due to the way each of the specialties work together for patient centered care.

One of my favorite research tools to find medical research information is Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/). I did a search using the title of your discussion and it came up with a lot of information. Some of the articles may be helpful for providing some insight into your condition.

I have thought about getting a second opinion. Actually just had a genetic test done to see if my dna had any sort of trait for high temperatures. That came back negative for any dna trait. I did see a mental health counselor and she said it was panic attacks, but I cannot fully believe that because each episode that takes me to the ER has been different. I cannot think of anything that would trigger me into an attack either.

I am not a physician, but I am an alum of the great work provided at Mayo, Rochester. My read is that you have spent a lot of time, money and angst, to no avail so far. Call Mayo, get an appointment and let them do a head to toe physical evaluation, and if a psychiatric examination is recommended, the psychiatric service is first rate. I had an ENT issue as a child, and Mayo resolved in 5 days, after 8 years of unanswered issues. I’m almost 72. I was a patient at age 11. I’m still just fine.

Thank you so much! Google is a great tool to use. Maybe they should make a show out of my case called Stump the Doctors.
