Sorry for the abrupt ending of my previous reply but I accidentally hit send before running to answer the door.

So my question after all that is; are there really 'Death Panels'? As a white, male over 70, do I meet the criteria for denial of service? Because if I view the clip you sent me correctly, there are a lot of avenues that my neurologists have not explored over 3.5 years. I doubt that my Duke/Harvard educated neurologist would be unaware of the diagnostic protocol for sorting out SFN since you can google it but he does work for Wellstar, a big HMO. My Ukrainian doctor may be unschooled but she represents a major hospital that advertises as having a multi-disciplinary team yet she failed to refer and, in fact, explicitly told me there was nothing else that could be done.

Am I reading too much into this or do you or someone else have some alternative theories. I have to admit, after the expense, time and pain of a lingering disease, I have a someone myopic view on this matter.

Hi Barry @jager5210 -- I can understand why you might feel the way you do. It is a challenge and it's a good reason why I think each of us has to learn as much as we can about our health conditions and become our best advocate. It's certainly not an easy road but I would keep pushing for answers and trying to find something that helps.

Are you following any kind of treatments now? I know that elevated B6 numbers can cause neuropathy but I think you mentioned earlier you stopped taking the B complex stuff. I have no medical knowledge other than what I read but B6 is different than the other B vitamins as it's not water soluble and the body doesn't get rid of it easily like the other ones so you can get B6 toxicity which can cause neuropathy.

Thanks John. Yes, I stopped as soon as I found out but the pain is getting worse. It's certainly surprisingly hard to find help and compassion is in even shorter supply.
