Yes, I went through the shots (no relief) and the ablation. None of it worked. I've had 3 back surgeries and now have developed idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy. So now, in addition to back and neck pain, I have the electrical shock pain and the burning pain. Such fun! I have gotten some relief for the back and neck pain from The McKenzie Method of gentle stretches. You can find some videos on YouTube that will show you how to do the stretches. I hope you find some relief and that the shots and ablation will help you. I wanted to let you know about my experiences so you can make some comparisons. We all have to be pretty tough characters to be able to endure the pain - and the misunderstanding of the general public who think if they can't see anything, then there's nothing wrong with you... sigh

This probably isn't a solution for you but years ago I would get such terrible pains in the lower back that I couldn't move an inch in bed without having horrific pain. It was like someone was stabbing me with an ice pick in my lower back. I could barely get out of the bed and it took me forever to just walk to any other room in the house. Doctors only offered relaxing and pain drugs which did nothing for the pain. Finally I read in a men's mag about stretching lower back muscles. So I laid on the floor and brought my knees up to my chest and did about ten reps and lo and behold the pain disappeared. It was like a miracle.

Apparently what was happening was when I exercised too hard the back muscles contract and put tremendous pressure on the spine and the nerves. With the above episode I knew exactly what I had done to cause this muscle tightness (over exercised in the gym). So stretching these muscles solves the problem. Now after any workout of work activity I always stretch this area and since then I've never had an attack again. Oh, by the way. The pain condition never occurred right after the physical workout but always about three or four days afterwards. Strange.

About ten years ago I started having pain issues in the knee and hip areas. I was convinced I needed replacements. The surgeon suggested physical therapy first which like the above was like a miracle. Same reason as above as the leg muscles are huge and can tighten and put a lot of strain on these two joints and cause pain. Now that I stretch on a routine basis this area of pain has also gone away.

Your back pain could be due to many other issues but you have nothing to lose in trying to get your muscular issues back to normal. Give it a try.
