JAK3

Posted by hyde @hyde, Dec 23, 2018

Hello all. I found this group while I was searching for information on the JAK3 mutation. I was diagnosed with this in 2010 and have my levels checked several times a year. The specialist wanted me to take aspirin as a treatment but I have used Krill oil as a natural alternative. My levels have stayed in the 600's or so.
I wondered if anyone else had this? If you had developed any other effects from it? The only information I can find is connected with very severe illness.
Thank you
Heidi (age is 54 yrs)

Hi, my name is Carla and I am a 77 year old, recently diagnosed with essential thrombocytosis and Jak2 mutation positive. I am told to take a 81 mg. aspirin daily but not as sole treatment. I take Hydrea 500mg. 4 times a week. My hemotologist wants my platelets at 300. I wish you success.

Thank you Carla 🙂 have you had any symptoms other than the elevated platelets?

No, I am very active for my age. My only complaint is and as been for the last several years is tiredness, yet blood tests show no reason for that. I am active all day but go to bed at 7pm and sleep until 6:00 in the a.m. guess that isn't a real problem. :]

I believe being active is a good thing when you have excess platelets 🙂 Hopefully, we will continue until the end with no effects from this weird mutation.
