Hi @angiejohnson. You may have noticed I moved your post to this existing discussion on lobectomies so that you can see what other's have said about their experience. Simply click VIEW & REPLY in your email notification to see your post.

I wanted to introduce you to fellow Connect members @alamogal635 (who in the last few days has had this procedure and may be able to offer a very recent look at the pain in the immediate aftermath), @dmarks, @ronaf, @tamela, and @hydrang3a have all mentioned lobectomies in the past and may be able to answer your questions.

Back to you @angiejohnson how long ago were you recommended to have the procedure? What is your doctor hoping for this surgery to accomplish?

@ethanmcconkey My Pulmonologist recommended lobectomy in October 2018 after viewing my CT. My disease is very focalized in the right middle lobe and I have some bronchiectasis there as well. The surgeon recommended me treat the MAC for 3-4 months prior to the surgery. I now have a follow up with the surgeon on March 18. I am beginning to freak out about it!
