Could you have strained the area?
It is VERY easy to do.
Walking, stretching, sqeezing on the toilet (sorry), walking, turning when asleep. Etc.
Try an ice pack for a few days and consciously stretch before getting out of bed and before getting up if you have been sitting too long.
If these things don't help after a reasonable amount of time, I suggest that you go to the doctor.

I am not a medical professional.
Good luck!

That's exactly what I did as I have difficult getting out of a chair due to knee problems. I will try that stretching similar to what I do when I get up from my desk. Thanks so much for the info.

Hi I am.suffering a terrible groin pain because I have a lesion in the illiac bone .The pain, that started 5 years ago, is extreme in the morning when I wake up. It is so strong that I am.not able to leave my bed without help. During these 5 years, I wasted lots of time with a couple of incompetent doctors where I live(Toronto). And as an aggravation, I was diagnosed with Arthritis based on another patient MRI. ( Mistake?)
A friend of mine who is physiotherapist discovered that MRI doesn't belong to me and I got another one to have a proper diagnosis . Now he is helping me with the proper exercises for my condition. For now, I don t see a big progress, but he told me that my recovery will take time.

Mine is due to a torn labrum. I would guess Ortho would be the place to go. A torn labrum does not show up on X-ray and sometimes even an MRI with dye misses it. Hope you get some answers
