Telangiectasia/Dilated Blood Vessels

Posted by dkish93 @dkish93, Oct 4, 2018

I have a little bit of Telangiectasia/broken blood vessels around the bridge of my nose that I've noticed after having a septorhinoplasty to correct a deviated septum a year ago (it's the area where the cast was placed). It's not really noticeable but becomes a little more prominent when I am stressed out or start to blush. I was wondering if there were any medications/natural supplements I could take to reduce the blushing appearance and constrict the dilation of the blood vessels in that region.

Hi @dkish93 and welcome to Connect! I wonder if other members who have had deviated septum surgery experienced broken blood vessels or telangiectasia around the nose area post surgery. I'm tagging @lisalucier and @arystefy, who have also had deviated septum surgery to share with you.

@dkish93 How long after the cast was removed did you notice the telangiectasia? Have you ever had telangiectasia or "spider veins" elsewhere on your face before?

Hi, @dkish93. I am sorry to hear about the broken blood vessels around the bridge of your nose that appeared following your septorhinoplasty. I had a septoplasty many years ago, but didn't have the rhinoplasty part. I didn't happen to have any broken blood vessels appear.

I'm wondering if you've had the chance to contact your surgeon who performed the septorhinoplasty on this, and if so, what input he or she might have had about the telangiectasia?

@dkish93 I had deviated septum surgery about 33 years ago and had no broken blood vessels afterward. I did not have a cast though, it was just bandaged.
