Hi, @ladybugmg -- just wanted to see how you are doing, and also to see if by chance you could let @drboat know a bit about where to get more information. Maybe you could share how you come upon the studies you share?

@drboat -- nice to meet you, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Are you particularly interested in research on mood and diabetes, or wondering in general about good sources of new research information?

REPLY

One of the best sources is Science Daily that reports about health and medical research going on around the world. SD always cites the source of the research summary.

I haven't been contributing recently because of having some eye problems making reading and writingg difficult at times.

Is it true that insulin can cause weight gain?

REPLY

I am an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. How can I long weight?

REPLY

Diaberes can be reversed by following Dr. Davis Whear Belly, or Dr. Bernsteins way of eating. I follow Whear Belly and am no longer on medication and my glucose levels are normal. Once you break the carbohydrare addiction it is an easy way to live. Much easier than the complications of diabetes. I had to research and find this on my own. I was not told diabetes could be reversed by my doctor.

OK. What can I do about it?

Why do the doctors not tell you that when you go on insulin you will have a very hard time losing weight and in fact, often gain weight?
