I have had hemophilus flu twice two winters in a row, that was 5 years ago. I guess its a bacteria that lives in us all but becomes a problem if it colonizers and takes over so to speak.
It certainly will wear you out for a couple of weeks.
I guess there is a vaccine out for it but I didn't feel comfortable getting it... I'm a little weary of vacines and I guess its only partially effective.
Hang in there you will get your strength back!
