Feel like I'm gonna die soon

Posted by danybegood1 @danybegood1, Apr 6, 2018

Dany here. Haven't posted in a while. I feel very physically ill. Nausea and headaches every day seems like. Blood tests normal. I have diabetes 2, fibro, hypothyroidism, osteoarthritis, gastroparesis, HA almost 2 years ago. I am in deep depression. Started therapy, 2 visits so far. Not enough I know. Will keep going. I need help with whatever is wrong, but I don't know who to ask, and I don't know if anything physically is wrong more than what I've listed. I'm just very confused, worried, and sick. Any ideas? Dany

Hi Dany. I will echo the thoughts of others, but I am sorry you are experiencing so much difficulty. I know that if I do not have good blood sugar control, I get headaches, but certainly not everyday and I don't imagine that yours stays hugely abnormal for extended periods. I also have hypothyroidism, but have never associated it with headaches, but mine stays pretty much right in the middle of normal when ever blood work is done. I am attempting to taper off the benzo I have been taking for anxiety so we can try something with less potentially dangerous side effects and during the first 5-7 days that I make an additional reduction, I have all kinds of physical symptoms that are abnormal for me. It is impossible to know if there is any connection between your emotional difficulties and the physical, but I am learning that the brain not working as it should can cause all kinds of physical issues and vice versa. I would definitely ask the therapist for their thoughts about any correlation and I am glad you are making that effort to feel better. I start with a new one this week myself - kinda scary, but necessary. Please keep us up to speed with how you are and I will send prayers and as much positive force as possible.

Hello @danybegood1

I am concerned for you. Chronic pain, along with nausea are difficult to deal with individually and when you put them together it is very hard. Are you able to eat? Good nutrition and some moderate exercise is important when you have Diabetes. The combination of food and physical activity can also lift the mood.

Keep in touch. I'm looking forward to hearing from you again.

@danybegood1 You all have quite a lot to deal with. You could relieve some of the pressure in all areas by having good food available. I suggest you take a cooking class or ask someone that knows how to cook to teach you a few basic recipes using healthy ingredients. When you grocery shop you should be getting fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, dry beans, rice, milk and eggs. A base for many recipes is carrots, celery, onions, salt and pepper. Start with learning to make eggs: scrambled, over done, boiled, poached and in an omelet. There are many online sites with easy recipes and instructions for cooking eggs.

Here is an easy recipe for beef vegetable soup:
cut an inexpensive steak or roast into cubes
cut carrots, celery and tomatoes (diced canned tomatoes may be used) into similar sized pieces
dice an onion
mix 1 cup of flour with 1 tsp each of salt and pepper
heat a deep pot with 1 tsp vegetable oil
roll the meat pieces in the seasoned flour and brown them on all sides in the oil
(add more oil if necessary)
remove the meat from the pan and set it aside in a bowl
add the onion to the pot and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp salt
cook and stir until the onions becomes translucent
add the celery, cook and stir 3-5 minutes more
add the carrot and tomato pieces and stir
add the meat back into the pot and stir
add at a quart of beef stock (purchased or made by mixing beef bullion with water according to the package directions)
stir, cover and turn the temperature to low so that the soup simmers
the soup will be done in 1/2 hour (cut a piece of the meat piece in half, if it is pink in the middle it needs to cook longer)
stir and serve or recover and simmer longer
Refrigerate any uneaten soup within 2 hours of eating

Good luck.

I sometimes feel the same way. It's because my pain. I want to give up work on stopping the pain. I think what is sense when we can't get any pain relief. On top of RA and now am in the hospital for third time is week with low low sodium. Very dangerous. By time I got to ER I was about to go into a coma. I wanted to give up. Then I remembered MY Lord took on pain that was horrible with no pain meds,. They nailed His hands and feet. They did much more before He got to cross. All my sins caused this. Now I ask the Lord for next test is to give me peace. I think I know how you feel. When others don't have our pain.

Hi, Dany -- good to hear from you. I'm really sorry to hear you've been feeling so ill, your pain is so bad and your depression is so deep. Sounds very hard.

Glad that you've been doing therapy. Have you found it helpful in your two visits so far?

Hello @danybegood1

A very easy, feel-good recipe: Take some asparagus spears and put them in a skillet with some olive oil. After they cook for a few minutes and get tender scramble an egg and pour over it. You can also add some onion or onion flavoring and/or some avocado slices for a really healthy breakfast. You can get your day off to a healthy start with high quality protein and healthy fats.

@oregongirl were you responding to me? I am not sure what you mean. Is it difficult for you to cook? If you like I may be able to suggest some shortcuts that could help you eat good food without so much work. You might also ask someone that you know is a good cook to make some heat-and-eat or freeze-and-eat meals for you so that you would only have to warm them up (hopefully in the microwave). Good luck to you.
