We are so much more than our disease....

Hello ladies, and maybe a few gentlemen. The forum is quite, maybe because it is the weekend and we are doing fun things (hopefully). I would like to know what our members are doing outside of giving MAC our attention. I know this group is wise enough to know not to give your whole life over to MAC. So, what is everybody doing that does NOT include illness? (if you are having illness, that is ok to talk about also.)
As for me, I went to happy hour on Hilton Head Island with my hubby and our teacup poodle named Scarlett. We enjoyed a mini pizza and colossol shrimp and an adult beverage. Afterwards, we ran our little pupster across a big lawn on the Broad Bay River. There was a cooling breeze blowing and it was quite nice. The humidity finally broke and the air was breathable. Tomorrow, we will attend a birthday party for a new friend. What's up gang?

Hellllloooooo. I'm from Toronto and have been at our cottage in Muskoka for the summer. I walk every single day for an hr in the woods, enjoying nature and the quiet moments in life. I luv socializing and do it as often as I can. I'm a retired inner city social worker from the school board, retiring a year ago. I'm trying to squeeze in as much travelling as I can right now, Ireland/Scotland in a few weeks, as I know the big 3 will be coming soon. PS. That also includes wine.... lol

@megan123 Jennifer, congrats on your retirement! Ireland and Scottland are beautiful I hear. My step-daughter went last month and did some kind of multi-day hiking that involved island hopping? She came back with gout of all things. She has never had it before. She weighs 112 lbs. So far, it doesn't make sense does it? Her dr thinks it is because she usually eats a vegetarian diet at home, but over there ate lots of meat and potatoes. She had lamb almost daily. Plus, I think they hit the taverns and she may have gotten dehydrated also. Who knows? Did you choose that region because you have ancestry there?

Hiya I live downunder in New Zealand, in the North Island ,in Paraparaumu Beach. It is spring here, bring on summer! I try to walk every day and have started a slow jog. I looooove animals and have a wee miniature Pinscher called Mack who is so wonderful. I run my own business which gives me time for my other loves, my family, friends, christmas and the SUN, hurry up summer!!!!!!!

Recently we had a great tangential discussion in the main thread about art. I'm posting here to bring this topic back to the top of the group.

Tell me, what contributes to your health and well-being?

@heathert - how's Mack? How was your summer in New Zealand? We're just getting ready for the season of sun here in the northern hemisphere. 🙂

@megan123 - Jennifer, did you open up your cottage last weekend, Victoria Day weekend? Will you live there full time over the summer?

And in the US, it's Memorial Day weekend. What's everyone got planned?

Hiya @colleenyoung - Mack(my wee min pin) is fantastic, love him lots.

Summer was a hot one 28-30 deg C alot of the time ( 86 deg F ) around 5 degrees above normal, we had to go out and purchase a standing fan to cool off. We are told winter here (NZ) and in Aust is going to be colder than usual, so that should be fun, getting out the winter woolies!!!!
