Achalasia Chronic pain

Posted by ed32 @ed32, Jul 26, 2017

I have been dealing with achalesia for over 3 years now. Had poem and fundopliacation surgery. Pain was reduced but coming back. Have difficulty mediating because my breathing is interupted by extreme burping to let off pressure. I have had to use oxycodon on a regular basis for the last few weeks. I am trying to avoid opiods. Have done some walking meditation but having difficulty exercising. Anyone have an idea? I am not doing well. I am contiuing treatment options but very frustrated with pain.

@ed32, what reasons has the doctor given you about why the pain has returned? Are there certain foods in your diet that might trigger the burping?

He has not said what the cause of burping and pressure is. I assume itis from acid causing gas?. I will look up the procedure you mentioned. My pain is at about a 7 now. I have tried anti reflux and anti inflammatory diets with little help. I just stay away from acidic foods. I have been getting worse and losing ahalf to one pound a day for 6 days. Called Dr. - no appointments available before my appointment on next Tuesday. Said go to er if I have to. Short of breath and difficulty swallowing. Er has proven useless in the past. Very frustrated. Taking oxyxcodone and I hate opiods. Thanks sorry for rambling
