PMR moving into other muscles
Woke up this morning with stiffness and achy upper arms. Until now it’s only been in neck and shoulders area and my thighs.

Yes, a lot of my pain currently is in my upper arms…. not so much shoulder and neck, anymore☹️

3 ReactionsNot unlikely since the disease enters the bursas in the shoulders and hips, eventually. PMR primarily targets the muscle-tendon junctures of the shoulders and hips but secondarily enters the bursas in these areas and even bursas in the back. I, actually, first noticed PMR in my bursas. My shoulders were so sore that I could not lift my arms onto the car steering wheel.

3 ReactionsMine started in shoulders and neck, then down to the elbows, then hips. Eventually it spread to my thighs and groin and then lower back. Each time it started on my left side first.

2 ReactionsMy shoulder pain has always been the major problem. It feels like it is on the top of my shoulders but I know more is affected. At one point, when no on prednisone, it was so bad I could not lift my coffee cup in the morning. It ges better faster than other parts affected. I use resistance bands to loosen up my shoulders.

3 ReactionsYes, my upper arms were the most affected so I couldn't lay anywhere near flat without them aching so bad I couldn't sleep. I slept in the recliner for 4 months until I was diagnosed and on prednisone.

1 Reaction@petermccarville I haven’t been able to drive because of the shoulders neck and back! Has anyone else not been able to drive because of the PMR ?

Thankfully it has not affected my driving. I feel for ya!
Before Pred iso e kicked in, it was dibilitating for even sitting up. Now, on bad days, I don't drive.
