Methotrexate

Is it possible to not take Prednisone for PMR sometimes I’ve read about Methotrexate helping. Has anyone heard of using Cellcept instead. It’s the same type of medication as Methotrexate.

My husbands PMR is well controlled with only methotrexate. He only took prednisone in the beginning.

Doctors tried to get me off Prednisone - wanted methotrexate - I did not react well - still on Prednisone

Sorry about your struggles.. but don’t give up..recovery takes a long time.. I had the same problem.reducing prednisone after being on it for 2 years… . Actemra, seriously elevated liver enzymes, so my doctor prescribed methotrexate… symptoms worsened. Now on Rinvoq and having relief.. tapering prednisone every 2 weeks and am now down to 4 mg prednisone and feeling so much better!
