When to replace night bag
Pretty basic question: how frequently should one replace an otherwise-functional night bag (I use Hollister or Bard). I rinse it every morning with tap water and once a week with a vinegar/water solution. I've been changing them out once a month but am not sure that's necessary, and wonder what others do. Thanks!

I rinse mine once a week and use it for 4 weeks total. They hold up quite well,
my concern is getting a UTI - which I've gotten twice in 6 years.

2 ReactionsI rinse mine everyday with vinegar and water, or just plain water. It gets changed out every month. If you notice, if you’re in the hospital, they just drain it. No matter how long you are in there.

1 ReactionBest to clean it after you empty it in the morning with a vinegar solution and a touch of Clorox . Let it sit for a bit and drain it and hang it to air dry. I change mine once a month.

1 ReactionI use them until they have a leak or until they look bad.
I find it easier to use a squeeze bottle with hot water, 1 minute in microwave, add inexpensive mouthwash after heating water, then adding to the nightbag tubing. Letting it settle for an hour or more depending on the sediment in the bag, then draining to allow the drain to clean as well. Once a week has worked for years!
