Timothy Kavanaugh. My view is that he will be fine so long as your requirements are fairly normal. He was a hip/knee surgeon but he now limits his surgery to knees. I think he has a waiting list of about nine months.

I am convinced that my surgeon, Jimmy Chow, is the best in Arizona and possibly in the nation. But he is expensive and Kavanaugh does take most insurance. If you have a very complex situation, then I would urge you to go to Dr. Chow. See @sailnsun comments in:

But Dr. Kavanaugh should be fine for normal replacements.

I have a golf buddy. He was scheduled with the Jiffy knee surgeon here. His hip started to bother him and he called the surgeon's office for an appointment and was told that the surgeon only did knees now.

So he went to see Dr. Chow. He ended up going through several specialists on his hip but his knee is bone on bone and the steroid shots are not working much any more. He has decided that he has more confidence in Dr. Chow and is having Dr. Chow do his knee in a couple of weeks. Part of his reasoning is he is hoping, and expecting, to get a bicruciate retaining implant (like I did).
