Chronic Pain, alternative Treatment

Posted by CiPaul @cipaul, Jul 11, 2017

I have had chronic pain for 17 years. I know what I'm going to say will be met with doubt, but please try what I say, even though it is not completely backed up by sceince. I was on heavy doses of OPIOIDS for 16 years with no help, relieveing my pain, then I started to take Kratom, for the last year I have been Pain Free!!! If you try it , you will have to try different strains, to find out what works best for you

Good evening. I to have suffered with chronic pain. Not sure if any of you have discovered PGX (pharmacogenetics testing) testing but I wanted to share a bit with you. It's basically a genetic test that you take once in your life. The test tells your doctors your genetic make up which in turn tells them which medications will work best for you, at the what dose, and what time and day to take it. Here is a couple links that I hope will help.

The testing helps eliminate the trial and air. Of finding the right medications for patients.

Kratom, is a tree that grows in different country's in South East Asia. The leaves are chewed, or ground, to make tea, or into a powder to be put into liquids, or capsules! I hope that helps, if not let me know & I'll explain further!

Not familiar with kratom. Using turmeric. May help. Other main alternative treatment is deep tissue massage. Has helped with torn rotator cuff. Or maybe just time. Who knows. Will try anything. Thanks.

Looked up kratom. Narconon says highly addictive, but narconon says that about everything. Thanks.

Hi @cipaul, glad you brought up Kratom. Yes, I have tried it, but I'm not sure I did it correctly to get the most out of it. Because I didn't want to drink something I didn't like, I bought it in capsule form where it was ground up in capsules. I took those but I really didn't know how many and how much and I don't know what strain I bought. I really appreciate you putting more information about this out. My son tells me constantly that this would be better for me. I'm now off opiates and I'd like something to replace it with but I know so little about it I just don't want to guess. Thanks for bringing that up. Jennifer

PS, I don't do narcanon, but I had no trouble stopping and starting taking it.

Jennifer, you must go online, & search for Kratom, when you do, put in your search, " effects & side effects Kratom, that should give you what all strains do!!! Then you can see which one would be better to try!! Also I take 6-8 capsules with 8oz of water every 4-6 hours, Please let me know how you make out!!

Thank you, I just don't think I did it right the first time and then I gave up. My son has told me over and over that this will help me. I just felt a little lost when I googled it. Didn't really understand what I was looking for and knew I didn't want tea, tincture or anything I would taste. It sounds like the way you do it is exactly how I want to do it. Thank you very much, Jennifer

Is it OK if he posts the website here he uses for Kratom? It would sure be easier to figure this out if I could narrow things down a bit.
