Pain Doctors???
Well, I have a broken neck, a broken leg, broken ankle broken back and 9 knee operations, so far. My former doctor died and I was sent over to his clinic mate. He immediately decided that he did not like the medication I was using. Wants me to go to a chronic and have needles stabbed again. I am not convinced of this, starting all over again, when the medical treatments were doing a good job. I've been using it for a couple of years, I had asked to be made functional at the former doctors. That was doing a decent job.

If you don't mind, would you be willing to share a little bit more about yourself? Do you currently have a broken neck, leg, and ankle? Is this the result of some sort of accident? You mentioned that you have been using something for a couple of years, are you talking about pain medications?
These are injuries that I have suffered throughout my past. I cannot say that they are healed, but I can always use help. No accidents, that I remember. The broken neck was from playing basketball years ago And some athletics. The broken back, again I am not certain. I recently lost my family doctor who had been prescribing my dosages of Fentanyl .50 mcgm and morphine, 3 times a day, 15 mg. The fentanyl was every 72 hours. Now, there is a person out of his office who is telling me that he wants to skewer my spine again. I have been doing well enough with the treatment that I have been using. There is NO reason to start all over again. I am at the levels my doctors had agreed upon that I was searching for, that being the ability to be functional. I have been treated for at least a couple years and I still understand life. I am not chasing street dealers or racing from doctor to doctor for my ability to continue as a human. I can function and am still able to walk into town and back. I have troubles, minor in nature, but at 61 years, this is still my life. I have no need for needles in my spine.
@budlyte Hello let me welcome you to Connect. Thank you for sharing more with us. I can understand that you would rather not be 'stuck with needles' Most of the folks I come across, here on Connect and those I know personally, are having their pain treated by Pain Management doctors. They can provide treatment that a family doc cannot do. If I'm reading your posting correctly, your new doctor wants you to undergo either some testing or procedures. Among the procedures I have had done are epidurals and nerve ablation. What is this doctor looking to do for you?
