After lumpectomy (20mm, grade 3) I only had radiation. By the way 3mm is about 1/10 of an inch. Did you mean 30mm?

I was IIA and had a lumpectomy done on July 24, 2017. Nodes were negative. I am doing 20 days of radiation and 5 years of Arimidex. Thankful for a good prognosis. I am 77. Thought that I was immune to breast cancer, but my mom had it when she was 70, so I should have been aware.
Christinemd - Did you , also, have Chemo before the radiation ? I am 74 and had total Mastectomy and will follow up with Chemo only and then Hormonal treatment for 5 years..
Cancer comes in the later years of a women's life. runninglakes

sorry, I meant 3 CM, which is about 1 1/8" size. The cancer was touching the margin , so therefore I will need a little more removal (2nd surgery), and that became stage 2A, which will need both chemo and radiation. What was the reason you did not have to have chemo ? Did you have an oral medication to take in place of chemo ?
