Say no to reverse shoulder replacement

Is anyone else regreting their decision to have a reverse total shoulder replacement?
I am about 9 months post surgery. The pain in my right shoulder has not been relieved. In fact it's much worse than prior to my surgery. I'm also very weak in my right shoulder. The doctor has sent me to PT ever since my surgery. According to my physical therapist , I have a severe deficit in the mobility and strength for my right arm. I have exercised my arm almost every day since my surgery. Does this get any better? It's definitely changed my way of life, driving and cleaning up my house is painful. I vacuumed my house, and I was sore for three days. I hope there are some insights on how to proceed with my recovery.

Thank you for your post. I am sorry your reverse shoulder
Surgery was a disaster. Mine went well and I have had no pain since immediately after surgery and long term.
Since this is a relatively “new” procedure, I cannot help but wonder about the experience of your surgeon. Had he done a high volume of these surgeries? How did he plan your surgery? Did he use CT or not?
If your surgeon was not a high volume experienced surgeon with this procedure, I would seek out an appointment with someone that is experienced. What can be done to fix this! You cannot continue “as is.”

@hsminc Good afternoon. Thank you for your response. I understand that I should see another doctor for my shoulder. My primary care doctor said there is nothing can be done. I have nothing else to work with. The humerus is gone. All I can do now is pain management.
The weakness in my shoulder is terrible. I can't use my right arm to get out a chair. My shoulder is weak and painful. I had some pain and weakness prior, but the surgery made it worse. It's one bad decision in my life that will effect me for life.
If anyone has some insight that would help with my shoulder, please let me know
Thanks for the posrs!

@koneil if you “google” ‘Can a humerus be rebuilt after surgery?’ All sorts of possibilities “pop up”!!
I don’t know anything about your primary care doctor but is it possible he has not explored possibilities? In our experience with working with hundreds of seriously maimed, injured and medically ill patients, we often found that well meaning overworked primary care patients did not have the time or wherewithal to do due diligence in researching and evaluating possibilities for their patients. I urge YOU to pursue this. If you cannot, contact the most well thought of orthopedic shoulder center(s) and call, call, call! Good luck!
Where are you located? Mayo in Rochester mn has some fantastic shoulder surgeons; the Andrews Institute in Pensacola Florida; the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York - almost any academic or large private clinic should be able to
Guide you.

@hsminc it sucks doesn’t it? We chronic pain professionals apparently don’t know what we feel every day, what has worked, what hasn’t. I bet we’ve all researched to death about the issues we struggle with every day. Just imagine how smart the doctors would look if they would just listen to us. When the mental pain and anguish hurts more than the physical pain we endure then it’s time to push the doctor to understand that all of us can’t allow a doctor to say can’t do anything I think is unacceptable and they need to be pushed to find somebody that can do something for me. 10/2020 had a reverse total right shoulder replacement. Eighteenth months later I was in a head on 60mph collision that snapped the humerus just below my new shoulder. I’m going back to see her in a month because it is still a problem. The doctor works for you, know your shit and be your own advocate, push until you feel satisfied and you’re feeling better. Sometimes it takes a while and it’s sad we have to beg for pain relief or for the guy to just do his job.

Sorry I rambled but I despise the bully doctors. Nope. Nothing to fix here.

Good evening, bot8. As you can see by my previous post that Im on your side.
The nurses I dealt with were horrible. The night nurse said to not get out of the bed, because she has to write a report every time I'm out of bed. I told her that she is going to witing a lot of reports
The nurse that goes room to room was extremely rude. I asked her if she had my pain relievers, and she snapped at me saying I DON'T CARRY THEM ON ME! That was enough. What a nightmare! I was gone. If you want to know the name of the surgeon and hospital, its got to be a private discussion.

I had mine done last week of June

It is exactly 5 months and a few days and I think I’m going backwards

I can’t really lift anything as it hurts my upper arm and I can’t twist my arm. It’s my arm on the bottom than it is on the top and doesn’t do what it should.

Very stiff and pain

And Physical Therapy basically is only heat ice walking your hand up ab and raising a cane over your head

This is five months

No Weight training

I had hopes, but now I’m pretty disgusted
