Some relief from idopathic peripheral neuropathy using hyperbarics
I've had PN for about 10 years. I am not diabetic. This past summer PN had progressed from my feet to almost my knees. I was in substantial pain and rapidly losing my ability to drive my car. I was desperate. My efforts to alleviate the pain were unsuccessful. I was depressed and somewhat cognitively impaired due to the pain. Trips to 4 different neurologists resulted in no assistance other than gabapentin (at 3500 gm caused cognitive impairment) and pregabalin (200 gm with modest help). The last neurologist said she could not help me. I've done a thorough search through medical journals and tried common vitamins, tens, acupuncture, and surgery (lower spine). No help... Heard about hyperbaric treatment. Called the hospital wound and burn center said $800 per hour. Heard about a navy seal starting a treatment center at a much lower cost (100/hr). Did some homework in medical journals via PUBMED medical journal search

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves recovery at acute motor axonal neuropathy case
These publications stated there were no negative side effects but some improvement in symptoms.
There seemed to be a little hope. Went to Dayton TN and spoke to a pastor receiving treatment. He had bad PN and said after 30 or so treatments the PN was only in his toes. I started treatment and after 23 treatments my PN has regressed to just below my ankles and the pain has been reduced substantially. I still can't believe this and am very thankful. But there are alot of scams in this area. I have a nurse in the room at all times. Also the equipment is hospital level stuff. Anyone who wants to try this must do their homework. There are HBO treatments in many places...be careful. I don't know who might benefit from this but I hope this helps those who try it. The downside is the cost. Sorry for those of you who can't cover it. I have not heard of an insurance that will cover it. Good luck and I hope you find a way to alleviate your PN problems. Steve

Well, this is really thinking outside the box.
Such a pleasant change to learn of someone who has actually been helped by a treatment.
We all seem to experience PN in our own way, what helps one may not help another, but it's good to learn that sometimes, PN can be rolled back.
I hope the improvement is permanent. Thankyou for posting here.
Even if it's permanent, which I seriously doubt, there's no way we could afford the costs, we're barely getting by as it is.
