Husband's lightheadedness
Hi everyone,
My husband has been experiencing lightheadedness, which he describes as feeling like he is on a boat, for several months. He describes the feeling in a certain spot in the lower back of his head. He is not in pain and really does not have other symptoms. His MRI was normal, and he has seen an ENT and neurologist and no one can pin point it. At first we thought it was vertigo or something to do with his ear crystals, but the ENT did not think so. He has been going to PT in case it was an inner ear issue, but nothing seems to help. His bloodwork has all been normal and basic vitals fine. Any thoughts on next steps would be wonderful!

I'm sorry your husband is having this issue with lightheadedness! That must be awful for him. It sounds like you are seeing the right doctors etc. but with no real results. Have you seen your regular primary care doctor? Sometimes they come up with helpful suggestions that the specialists miss. Since vitals and everything seem normal possibly a chiropractor could help or at least put something back into place that might be causing this.
Also you could just put everything in God's hands. Prayer works! God made your husband and he can fix him! I'll say a prayer for him too.
I wish you the best.

Thank you so much, that is a helpful suggestion. We will try a chiropractor! He has seen his primary care doctor but they best they could offer is possible anxiety, but he claims he is not anxious or stressed. We have definitely been praying and will continue to do so! We appreciate your prayers, too! The power of prayer in numbers is amazing.

This past June when I lost hearing in my left ear for about 24 hours, I was also experiencing dizziness, it was so bad I couldn't drive for a while. I had an MRI with and without dye. Nothing. About 2 months later we were flying back from Europe. I had a head cold and when we landed, I noticed my hearing again was gone in my left ear. This time it did not return. I did all of the accepted protocols) but, I was experiencing dizziness (not disabling). I was referred to a specialist and they gave me a couple of runs in the Epley Chair. The visits were 2 weeks apart and the last one was a month ago. All is good!!! Knock on wood!!!
I've had this for 25 years. This https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/brandt-daroff-exercises has worked wonders for me. I hope it does the same for him.
Thank you both for your thoughts! He’s tried the Epley maneuver numerous times but it hasn’t helped. We will try the Brandt-Daroff maneuver as that one is new to me.
@julianned ,
Hi!
I just saw your very nice reply! I don't know why it wasn't directed to my inbox. I'm glad your husband is going to see a chiropractor. I saw one for years and it helped so much! Eventually, I didn't need to see one again. My back was fine due to the treatment I got.
You are so right about prayer! We all need it! My husband died a year ago and now that I'm alone, I pray more than I did before and they get answered! Then, I don't feel so alone anymore. God is there for us and always has been.
I will continue to pray for both of you!
