Anyone else with similar hip revision?
2009 MOM Hip replacement - 2024 Cobalt 6.9, Hip revision (new surgeon split femur open, removed loose stem, drilled deeper, new longer stem, sandwiched bone with wire loops, bone where old stem was is deteriorating). The surgeon said the gaps are new bone growth. Looks to me like the bone is actually deteriorating. Anyone else with same results?

My wife had the same happen to her; a total of 6 hip surgeries; first a total bilateral, 9 months later a revision on right due to being dropped in shower at rehab. Three years later left revision due to Cobalt / Chroumin elevated to toxic levels. Two years later revision on right hip due to two staph infections, Cobalt / Chroumin elevated and loose right femur stem. All was removed, medicated spacer placed for 8 weeks follow by a new implant and for the first time in 11 years her Cobalt / Chroumin levels have dropped to normal levels. Today hips are fine, now dealing with degenerate disk disease! Go figure, right? Lots of good luck!
