Hi . I was having terrible headaches and TMJ. The dentist referred me to an oral surgeon ,I decided to go to ant ENT first because I thought it was a reoccurring sinus infection. I found out my symptoms were caused from migraines. I have never had ear problems or a flare of TMJ this severe. The doctor gave me some steroids and injections ( block) in my neck and jaw, put me on a regimen of vitamins. It’s only been a week and I feel like a different person . Hope this helps you.

@bla2157 I recently found out my pain for a year now that I thought was my left upper teeth is from TMJ. I have ringing in my left ear also. I just got an appliance to wear at night. But, they said it could take a month or so. I am sooo MISERABLE.

Hello @bla2157 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm sure you are pleased to have some relief from your TMJ problems. Migraines can appear in many different ways, and from others who have posted, it seems that TMJ and migraine symptoms are sometimes confused.

Have you been told if you will need to have regular injections of steroids?
