Something I did several years ago was to ly on the floor with my legs up on a chair, that gets all the pressure your spine. Also ice your back and leg, I hate ice, much prefer heat but the ice really does do the job. Let me know how you make out. Joy

I am going to the neurosurgeon on Monday, March 6th first to see what he thinks. Thank you!

Thanks Joy for your suggestions. I have a call into the doctor so
I'll see what he says. But with that said I just might have to try what You suggested. Thank you!

Please let me know what he says. I'll be thinking and praying for you. Good luck!!!

@pkindron,

You mentioned you were seeing the neurosurgeon on Monday, March 6th. Did you make your appointment? Would you mind telling the rest of the members what you found out?

Long Story short I did not have my MRI done last night due to insurance issues. I am scheduled for an MRI on my brain on next Monday because of my headaches. When they called to get my MRI approved they wouldn't because I already had an MRI scheduled. Even though the MRI's are on different parts of my body. They both have the same code so that is the problem. I'm not sure what I want to do about getting the MRI done here. It is now scheduled for Friday Morning at 6:30am. Can you believe that? That is the only time they had. So I haven't heard from Mayo to see if they cancelled my MRI there. I think I'd rather just go to Mayo and have that one done and then come home and have the MRI on my back here. I may take care of this tomorrow. I hate insurance companies!

So sorry your getting the run around. Is there anyway you could get them both done at the same time? Keeping you in my prayers. Joy

I am so sorry - I have to manage insurance issues frequently and just when you become an expert, something changes. One thing I have learned is that you do need to be persistent. Sometimes they might have old information in the system so they applied it to the wrong insurance, or the codes do not match - and MRIs are only done as ordered. If you had one sceduled for your back, they cannot add on the brain scan unless the Dr. changes the order completely which would require a new approval. All very frustrating for you, I am sure. We have been there too. Make sure you become your own best advocate! Can you talk with your Dr. to see what they advise as far as going to the appts. as scheduled? Keep after the insurance company. Keep track of your bills, statements, etc.

Going at 6:30am is totally believable as is going at 10pm at night! Those machines run around the clock. đŸ˜€ Good luck!

Hello @tallygirl. Did your insurance issues get straightened out so you could have your MRI? If you had your MRI, what were you able to learn?
