I'm new here....

I do have a question for all of you pain folks. I've had some very excruciating leg pain. When I got up my legs feel like they are going to give way. It takes me a minute to start walking. I still have pain when I do. Then at night it gets worse. I go to bed and I can't turn on my side without this horrible pain. The pain is in my lower back and my upper thigh. It's in both legs..I have never had sciatica issues before so I don't know if this it. I would think sciatica would correct itself within days or weeks.. This has been going on for a few months now but has progressively gotten worse. Maybe it is drug related? If it is I don't think it would take this long to effect me. Has anyone else experienced this? I appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks...

It sounds like you have something pinched in your back, if you have a Chiropractor I'd go. I thought I might need a hip replacement and the Ortho Doc said he thought was in my back and it was. One trip to the Chiropractor after months of not being able to walk took care of it. Good luck.

Hi - I'm new at this as well - You mentioned you have a lot of pain on your lower back and both of your legs. Have you had a MRI on your back? I've had burning pain on both of my legs - it started about a year ago with my left calf with pain especially when I went to bed, having pain down my lower back as well. Then this pain started on both of my legs - right thigh and was going to PT. When I went to PT and it hurt so bad - i decided to go to the doctors to find out exactly what the problem was. The MRI shows I have a bulging disk but that I also have about a 3-4 ml sheath tumor on my nerve root on my spine. I'm in the process of going to see a neurosurgeron - Just a suggestion to go to a doctor who will give you a MRI just to make sure what the actually problem is. I've had several x-rays in the past for my back pain but the x-rays never show anything. I'm to go to Mayo Clinic soon because I have polycystic disease as well and have had a liver resection surgery there about 17 years ago - They saved my life!
Hopefully you feel better soon!

Thanks for taking time to answer my post. It is much appreciated. I went to my Internist yesterday. He had me do a urine test, a blood test and x-ray. I am scheduled for a MRI on Monday. I'll keep you posted. That's a good thought about going to a chiropractor. I'll see what these tests show first. Thank you again, Tallygirl

I'm not sure about a chiropactor - I would prefer a physical Therapist - Good luck with your MRI!

Hi....I went to my Internist yesterday. I ended up having a blood test, xray, and urine test. I do have a MRI scheduled for Monday evening. That is the earliest they could get me in. I hope your visit to Mayo Clinic works out. Which Mayo Clinic are you going to? I've been going to Mayo in Jacksonville, Florida for my daily headaches. If infact if I do need to see a neurosurgeon I will go to Mayo for that also. It's a great place. They certainly have brilliant people working there. I'll keep you posted and thanks for taking the time to read my post and post back. 🙂

Thanks.....I'm hoping I don't have to go to a Chiropractor or go to PT. I don't know anything about chiropractors and there are NO good PT places where I live. Been there and done that for other issues....Thanks again!

Something I did several years ago was to ly on the floor with my legs up on a chair, that gets all the pressure your spine. Also ice your back and leg, I hate ice, much prefer heat but the ice really does do the job. Let me know how you make out. Joy
