Anyone here dealing with charcot foot disease?

@charlie24, I can imagine you and your husband are worried and want to avoid amputation. I'm glad to hear that the orthopedic device (air cast) is helping to alleviate the pain.

It sounds like you might need more guidance from your husband's doctor. I would ask questions like:
- How can we avoid amputation?
- How might surgery recovery be affected by pyoderma gangrenosum?

Charlie24, does keeping the leg elevated help with swelling? Does you husband currently have any sores on the leg where the cast is?

Yes, he does have the pyoderma gangrenosum on the lower leg with the Charcot foot disease. He does keep his leg elevated and the swelling in the foot might decrease a bit, but the foot is always swollen.
