I was able to resume gardening (with custom cmc/wrist braces due to arthritis.) I can write and paint, sew a little, and hold a cup and glass - none possible before surgery. My thumbs, unlike the rest of my hands, have little pain. I just realized that I type with 3 fingers on each hand (my little fingers are deformed) and only my right thumb.
My hand surgeons were magical, as was my OT. Now a rheumatologist is working with me to preserve as much function as possible.
My friend's creative son designed squeeze bulbs for his camera shutter and focus - don't ask me how!

@sueinmn was writing out a check. Due to my nerve damage I had found it easier to always print and only “signed” my name when necessary as my hand fatigued quickly when writing rather than printing. So is it difficult holding a pen? But who knows, it could very well be an improvement for me.

Sorry for all the questions. I am one who likes to research the outcome of a medical procedure. Not that I do not trust the doctor performing it, I just don’t trust my body. I always have complete and absolute trust in my doctors. I am thankful for them as they have been my biggest supporters and cheerleaders during my entire medical journey.

Thank you so much for answering all my questions. It is greatly appreciated!!!!
