Welcome to Mayo Connect. Great work so far.
The fear of regaining is always a concern. I am 13 year out from RNY and have had some weight gain and loss. But once scale stars creeping up, I get back on track. Worked to hard to get to where I am. If a post surgery support group is available, take advantage of. They help remind you of basics and provide information on other post surgery topics.

What type of surgery are you considering?

My doctor and I are leaning towards bypass over the sleeve.

I'm just starting my journey, AGAIN, and I am certain, my LAST. I am taking in as much information, pros/cons, and getting set up with the various providers. I look forward to getting my life back and permanently breaking so many bad habits and behaviors.
