I'm a 57 year old guy. I was diagnosed only a few years ago with HCM. I was started on metoprolol and had few or no symptoms for a long time. Then just in January, I got the " it became obstructive" symptoms. They put me on 5mg Camzyos and it worked for the first 3 months. But yesterday, I had an echocardiogram. Results: basically, my gradient is at 35 or so, but on the last echo it was 13 or so. So the cardiologist said that I should double my dose of Camzos from 5mg to 10mg. I'm worried about the gradient and don't know what it means. I'm also worried i'm going to be on an ever-changing roller coaster of dose changes. I'm also concerned that the gradient being high might have been a reading from an unusually stressful day and that maybe the doubling of the dose is based on a one-off incident. I don't know how this stuff works.

Hello...I have been on 10mg. of Camzyos, after being on 5 mg., for only 2 months, over a year ago. My HCM has been normalized by this dosage amount. I am seeing a new cardiologist next month and I am going to inquire about the newest HCM drug coming out soon. I am just curious. I feel so much better since taking the higher dosage I have energy again.

Im a little confused you said it was 35 now 13 and they want to up your dose?
Or did it drop to 13 and move up to 35?
Im the same age very active and if you get a chance read thru some of my posts!
I stayed on 5 mg for 5 months and now off awaiting surgery
Good luck if you have questions reach out
