Second Transplants @ Mayo

Posted by coky @coky, Nov 13, 2016

Does Mayo Clinic in Phx do second lung transplants? I had a bilateral Feb 2015 & this spring developed chronic rejection BOS. My Dr's @ UHC in Colo. won't to a second transplant & suggested I find another hospital. I am 62 years old & have Alpha 1 and was healthy except for my lung prior to transplant. Any advise?

I do not know any details but i would get to Mayo ASAP. I had a kidney transplant at Mayo Florida campus and i regard Mayo as the premium in all things health related. Best wishes.

Mayo in Phoenix contacted me and they basically said no, but then my original hospital is reconsiding re-transplanting me. I have my finger crossed that it works out. Thank you for your advise.

Hi Coky, as Kristin mention Mayo Phoenix is taking a voluntary pause. I cross my fingers too that your original hospital will reconsider a re-transplant. Should that not work out, you may consider contacting Mayo Clinic, Florida http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63

How are you feeling these days?
