@pamelacelia I see. That is frustrating! I checked out the Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/autisticsocietytt/

I'm not sure if you're a part of this group but it looks like they host monthly meetings in San Fernando, and have a list of schools that are accommodating to students diagnosed with ASD. But anyway, I know how hectic it can be to travel to in-person meetings especially if they aren't nearby. Sometimes online communities are more helpful.

Here is a global support group called "Autism Mamas" https://www.facebook.com/groups/339749279805390/
They have one for dads too.

There's a special sort of warmth to the community here on Mayo Clinic Connect, so I see what you mean and I hope you'll continue coming here for support 🙂

@ayeshasharma, hi, I am on the Spectrum myself. I worked in Special Ed for eighteen years. I have a precious grandson who is in an inclusive classroom at school. He is on the Spectrum and is a sheer delight to us all.

Supporty McGroupface is a support group I highly recommend. I am on Facebook and have tons of special needs advocates , moms, therapists, and friends who advocate for our buddies. Feel free to look through and see if any click with you. Jane Peterson.

Love and hugs sent your way.
Mamacita Jane

I'm actually not a member of that group, I'm in another group called Autism Spirit, they usually post links from ASTT, the group operates out of two locations that are quite some distance a way from us, about 3 hrs drive either way I belive they have two branches so getting to a meeting is very difficult, thank you for replying to my comments and for taking the time out to research resources and groups available locally, I just need to find a space where we can fit comfortably. The schools are either to expensive or far away, so that's a whole other issue, I don't really have anyone close by to help out should I go to a meeting and I need someone to pick up the children if I run late or anything so I'm kinda between rock and a hard place.
