Any local reoccurrences....and how the treatments worked?? I myself had a resection last year, app 7 months after..had enlarged lymph nodes in chest that was positive..so had more chemo with 30 radiation treatments..Dr thinks it was there before but to small to show.
On a scan.. there are so many people on the site's i go to, but not many stage 2A..and not alot of info.. .... so thank you.for any replys. Merilee

Hi Marilee:
You are brave to share your story. I was shockingly diagnosed with stage 1a non small cell adnocarcinoma lung cancer and had VATS surgery 1/11/2008. My upper left lung lobe, a 3 cm tumor and a wedge of my lower left lung lobe was resected. It was a tough road back to breathing...and the stigma has been unbelievable for me "a never smoker". You can go to our web site to read my story.

I have had no recurrence. I feel Dr Amit Sood's Paced Breathing ResearchSstudy greatly helped me deal with the stigma and ground me mentally, physically and spiritually. I now run, x country ski, bicycle & just submitted Mount Kilimanjaro 19,341 feet!

My loving husband Jerry has been by my side every step of the scary lung cancer journey. I truly feel pushing the edge of exercise has helped me stay healthy...even though it is tough!

We co founded WortmanLungCancerFoundation501(c)(3) non profit to raise awareness about lung cancer, break the stigma and raise desperately needed lung cancer and lung health research funds for Researchers at Mayo Clinic.

I know first hand that my Mayo Clinic team of doctors and caregivers are the best in the world and also need recognition and support to keep them committed on affording lung cancer patients and loved ones the best quality of life possible.

Please feel like you have a lung cancer sisterhood. We just need to reach out to each other.

My husband and I will be at the Mayo RST Empowered to Live Well Cancer Conference on Nov 5,(SA).

Our fund raising "Running Lungs walk/Run" is on (FR) Nov 4,2016. Soldiers Field.
Rochester, MN 4:00pm.
Perhaps we can meet in person? Or you can call my cell (406)570-4037 or email!

Thanks again for sharing your amazing story! You are a Hero! God Bless.

Kindest regards,
Linda Wortman

Dr said it was probably there before but to small to see on any scan..had chemo radiation combination. Scared about return..last scan 1 month ago said watching some nodules... Seems i gave up everything and put everything on hold since dx in 2015...always g focussed on the cancer..Dr said it was caught early.

Hi Merilee:
I understand and respect your fear of the nodule! It took support from my doctors at Mayo and follow up CTs and perhaps my own personal determination to visualize that I could do deep breathing exercises and eventually blow the module away! Guess what? The nodule is gone. It took a while, but I learned to breath deep and enjoy each day...one day at a time. Life is fun! So I am sending you silent blessings !
Just keep moving, keep derp breathing and enjoy life!
Hugs

Hi Marilee: How's the breathing? We have been away from home base for two weeks. We are getting back to our exercise routines...I realize when I get back to just 30 mins of exercise a day, and I deep breath, I feel so much better and the hidden anexity becomes calm (even when I think I'm fine, ha!) have you found a breathing exercise? Thinking of you! Cyber hugs!
