Janet, are you scheduled for surgery? What life style change are you most concerned about?

I see Dr. Tomorrow June second. Wondering how long recovery is. 20 years ago had a very bad reconstruction of my breast which has left a lot of scar tissue. So far Drs have been treating me for back pain till I told them about a strong pulse in my stomach. Sent me emergency and am up to 5 mill. Will this keep me from working? I clean homes. Only two .plus I dog sit. Could use some general info .

@janetpomponio Here is some information about Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm treatment http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/abdominal-aortic-aneurysm/diagnosis-treatment/treatment/txc-20197872 This information may help you prepare for your appointment with your doctor tomorrow. Has it already been determined that you are a candidate for surgery?

Che's I'm having surgery. Which one is still to be determined. It's in a tricky spot but am very happy to have more info now. Hoping I can get the surgery thru the groin but hasn't been determined yet. I thank you so much for the info you have given me so far. Your a blessing. I will keep in touch. Going Monday to cardiologist to have my heart checked out. Was told this is hereditary and my sisters should be checked.
Also have learned to open my mouth. If I would have persisted more about the strong pulse in my stomach I could have have found this out way before it got to the size that needed this surgery.
Thank you again....janet

Janet, it's good that your sisters will be checked! I have an identical twin sister. When I learned that the condition could be hereditary, I freaked out. I told her to get a ct scan or MRI. She put it off, but at the doctor for a checkup mentioned my condition to him. He scheduled her for a scan immediately. (Hallelujah, she's fine!)

Indeed it is wonderful, Janet. I joined an online aneurysm support group 18 years ago. There is comfort in numbers. (The group ceased to exist when the founder passed away.) (From pneumonia, not the aneurysm operation.)
Keep us up-to-date!
Annie

>

@elsinann ......thank you sto much for your reply. .it gave me comfort. The waiting is what is so stressful. I'm real good than all of a sudden I start to panic. I do have faith so I get on my knees and pray. It helps me. I've been thru a lot. But I can't tell you how many Drs. Missed this. They planned my extended abdominal on my bad surgery fron breast cancer. I want to call everyone of them and tell them how they have hurt me. .i keep thinking of dining and though I know where I'm going I just am a little afraid. Sorry I'm ranting ? Forgive me. But you sound kind and comforting. Thank you.

Just checking in. How are you doing @janetpomponio? Since you were last online you've been to see your cardiologist. Any updates on surgery plans? Would love to hear what your next steps are?
