Hi group I need to find a good doctor. I have lost all trust in the medical field. I am Kathryn and live in Alabama. I have a PHD in forensic Science and a PHD in pathology. I miss work bad. I am a double amputee after 98 surgeries. I have Lupus and I know it came from years of nasty medication I took for years. I was in a car accident, I shattered both legs up to me hips, my right wrist that still have pins and plate broke my neck, and lower back has a plate, and a few ribs. Lucky I am here. But pain has took a tool on my life. I have good days Today I feel descent. I was taking Lyrica but stop taking it WOW what a nightmare. I have a God daughter I adopted over 3years ago. I have had her since she was 11 months old. She has kept my pain at bay. I need her more than I knew. I wish you all the best. I took advice from here on CBD oil and it works. Any more advice sure could use...

By the way if you are not your on advocate of your medical treatment you will find yourself lost in pain and sick... Always be in charge of your medical treatment you know your body better than anyone. Wish I had been my own advocate a long time ago I would have my legs if I had been

Welcome @lillelillee !
I do not have any experience to share with you regarding CBD and I am afraid I don't have any advice at all.
I just want to welcome you and tell you how badly I feel for all that you have gone through.
I may not have advice, but I have a good ear anytime you want it.
FYI...there is a group for those who have taken anti-anxiety and/or anti-depression meds. It is also a great group with lots of experiences. You might want to check out the group.

Have a great weekend...

As long as you have the CBD - a chair massage might do you good as well. Taking the stress off of your spine and shoulders may be just what you need. Of course, checking out all of the wonderful champions on this website will give you great feedback for ideas that just might help you. Physicians have only what they have been given in western medicine and textbooks. Unless they have experienced it themselves and have empathy on their side, they can't always know what you are feeling and know what to do for you. As a nurse - I worked with them one on one and saw what they did for some 40 years. There are good ones and not so good ones as every profession does. Our healthcare today requires that we advocate for ourselves and speak up about what you need/want. It's 50 % physician/healthcare system and 50% you and what you do for yourself. So...learning about yourself and what you can do for and with yourself is the goal. Lots to do going forward NOW. I have been doing for a long time and continue learning everyday.

What do you say is the reason for tinnitus, which has just begun for me seriously, and I'm questioning hearing loss too.

Jump to this post

The reason for my tinnitus was because I had C-Diff from a surgical complication.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/c-difficile/symptoms-causes/syc-20351691
I was put on 4 antibiotics to save my life. I was in a coma from the SUPER INFECTION and they needed to give me the antibiotics to get rid of the massive infections. My temperature went up to 106 degree F. The infection and antibiotics gave me the bilateral tinnitus. Since then I hear them ever since then (1994).
They sound like a high tone whine. I tested for the noises on my piano and they are two tones...[two octives above middle C - E flat]. I hear them day and night and they bother me any time of the day or night.
I have utilized Sound machines of various types to filter out the noise. I have used biofeedback to think about other things beside what is constantly going on in my head. I use my radio or my TV in the background to always have some noise/talking going on so that outperforms what is going one in my brain. This way I can concentrate on what I want to do instead of hearing the annoying sound in my head.
Better yet, I have great hearing aids that have a program that I ALWAYS put on that has a blocking or white noise on it which almost matches my tinnitus. I like listening to it because it is more pleasant to listen to then what is in my head. My audiologist can turn it up more or I can even turn it up on my iPhone (where my Resound hearing aid is located) if I want it louder if I must without causing any migraine or hypercusis.
Stability and moderation is what I need because too much stimulation of my brain will cause overload and exhaustion.

Answer to your question of tinnitus and hearing loss should be directed to an audiologist right away. Write down your thoughts and questions about what you are feeling, when this happens and what you would like to do about it. Find an audiologist that will be able to answer your questions and also be able to direct you to what you can do to help you with your hearing loss/tinnitus.

@lilee This might sound strange, but "talk" to your pain. Just like you would to another person. This pain is with you 24/7. You want to understand it, but you want to have the upper hand, not the other way around. Ask what would be a most comfortable position or activity. Tell your pain you value its presence as it lets you know you've perhaps done too much on a certain day, but you need to be able to live fully, and be there for your goddaughter. Talk to it as a friend, an ally, and you may be pleasantly surprised to find your pain lessons and your attitude changes for the better I might add!
