I have recently been told I have breast cancer. I just had an MRI and am waiting to see a specialist. My question is if the cancer has spread to your lymph nodes is the cancer still curable?

Hi nancy I was dx with 2nd stage breast cancer Jul 2011 it spread to my lymph nodes I had a rt breast mastectomy and 27 nodes removed 8 were positive..today I celebrate my 50th baby..stay positive and put God first..as I look back at the journey its just a test for ur testimony and gets u closer to God..stay positive and keep the faith u will be fine..God bless and keep u and ur house Amen:)

Lula, what made you decide to have a single mastectomy instead of a double? Are you concerned that the cancer may reappear in your other breast later? I am trying to decide which way to go. But, I don't want to go through this process ever again.

I didn't think about it until i learned other women had a double mastectomy and how convenient it must have been to not worry about getting reconstruction or wearing a prosthesis. I have a friend thats breastless, she gives wearing t-shirts a whole different meaning..but yes absolutely I would have if I would have known then what I know now..

Did you have a bone scan? Every time I have another test ordered I think the worst. I'm pretty frazzled today.

Hi Nancy u will be fine.. Yes I had a bone scan. They are just being thorough; it is for your good so relax and be positive and keep the faith..this journey is like a nightmare, but when it's all over, u wake up and say WoW that wasn't bad after all..be encouraged u will be fine..Godbless. Also, I was reading our previous msgs and I noticed on Jul 25 I said I had 50 babies. I meant 50th bday lololol;)

Thank you for your encouragement. I got through the bone scan ok. Probably going to have surgery the first week of October. I'm keeping the faith!!!
