Varicous veins/ Blood clots

Posted by trouse @trouse, Jun 24, 2013

Need some suggesstions. I have a huge varicous vein on the back of my right leg. I have had it for several years. I have noticed that it is getting bigger and gets swollen from time to time. It is beginning to spread into smaller veins down the back of my leg. It is painful, off and on. I hae also noticed my leg tends to get numb. I spoke to my primary doctor about this. He wants to refer me to a specialist. Has anyone experienced this before? How can you tell if it is a blot clot etc?
Any suggesstions would be of help! Thank you!

I have a rare clotting disorder factor 2 mutation with protien s I have had 4 go to my lungs 2 of those thru iv filter I had 3 dvts but I produce superficials. All the time I'm on the highest dose of eliquis they can give.my dvts never gotten red or hot but felt like a. Cramp. What helps me is to not over do it but stay Mobil and rest off and all day.have they checked to see if u have a genetic clotting disorder? I understand how painful they are and when I travel which is not much I stop every hour and walk around . I found out long. Trips I cannot take very well but. Canot fly I'm no Dr but maybe this will help it makes my trips not as painful and prevents any new dvts

Hi and Happy New Year too you🤗 My mother has Vericose Veins. She has had some removed. She does not have a blood clotting disorder at all. But she is on high blood pressure and cholesterol pills a day and Aspirin also. I actually have a blood clotting disorder, but from our father's side of family. As well as my twin and my Uncle,Father and another sister and it is hereditary. I think they will just check you to make sure. You can have that vein stripped. But I think you will be alright😇
