I thought it would be a great idea to start a discussion group for women suggested to me by a very dear friend. A place where us girls can go and have a chat. Hope you will all join in Would love to hear from you all

Depression is not made up in anyone's head. That's horrible but sometimes educating loved one's is necessary.

Good day ladies,
I want to begin by wishing everyone who's a mom a wonderful Mother's Day! The idea of offering women a place to express themselves is great.
As I browse through different discussions I see that we have a lot in common. Health issues brought us together but there is so much more that we as women can ad. In addition to be supportive of each other we can also brainstorm and learn about different conditions.
I read about living with physical pain a lot and I don't know what that's like. Both of my parents have diabetes and arthritis. My mom now has heart disease and will have surgery on June 4th and my dad also suffers from gout and depression. I have an uncle who's comical and he says "Some people inherit money, estates but we inherited a bundle of nerves"!.
We cannot help genetics but we can still do plenty to have meaningful lives. I look forward to learning from all of you....

Omg I thought I would get up and try to enjoy my day. The Devi himself had to perturb my peace.
Much better now after a nap. Let's start this day anew. Hi Ladies, I had a great conversation with mom. She's my love. She told me that she's trying to have a positive attitude re; her pending heart procedure. She had me in stitches when she told me that she was fishing on the island. She said she threw the rod and it became tangled in a tree and couldn't catch a fish. I chuckled when she said that.
Lizzie, the fan, I couldn't live without because for some odd reason it also helps with insomnia or maybe because I get so hot that it cools me down. Whatever the reason, I would have to sleep outdoors, which almost happened but that's another story, because the hot flashes can be intense.
Sorry you cannot get relief from a fan.
How was everyone's Mother's Day?

I'm so glad you are feeling better. My Mom's Day was very nice, I spent it making a garden here in our new place. The sunshine was delicious.

Lizkat if u r having regular periods than u r not menopausal but if u r having hot flashes or mood swings then u can b peri menopausal. That can last for a while. They consider menopause to be after one year of no menses. I hope that helps. Jodi

New to this but thought I would give it a whirl

Hot flashes - drown them with soy milk - Not very far into the meno thing and I was having a really bad time with them - started drinking a glass of soymilk every morning and poof - they're gone and have not come back - all Soy milk is not created equal - I use SILK Organic - can also use it in shakes or on cereal - tastes pretty good compared to several other varieties I've tried

Noticed someone mentioned creaky joints - I was having problems with a sore knee that just didn't seem to want to go away - on the advice of my sister in law I started taking 2000 IU's of Omega 3's every morning - did not take long and knee was as good as new - this seems to consistently work for pretty much everyone I know who has given it a try

Hi Mommabear!
Welcome aboard.
I have fallen out of my routine for taking my vitamins, I gotta get that going again.
Silk organic, does it matter what time of day one drinks it? I have been drinking a glass of milk with cookies at bedtime as it help slow down the metabolism of my sleep meds enabling me to sleep thru the night.
I occasionally have problems with my knees and the chondroitin stuff works really well for me.
I should add the omega 3's anyway.
OK I need a BIGGER pill box!

Thank you Mommabear I'll let you know how it works
LizKat
