I don't eat any fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts, high fiber also the only meats I eat are fish chicken and hamburger. Also you should eat small amounts several times a day. I drink Ensure and I just started something called Juice Plus. You can get all your vegetables and fruits in either capsule form or gummies. I chose gummies because the capsules might be hard to digest. I have had a gastric pacemaker since 2012 and it has helped so much! Hope this info helps. Kathy

@@katmandu, @justinmclanahan, thanks for the quick response. Yep, i know about the frequent small meals im supposed to eat, but i haven't figured out how that's supposed to fit in with weight loss. I need to lose about 50 # to be healthy. But i have hypothyroidism too. What happens is i sometimes forget to eat because im not really hungry during the day. But when dinner comes along im ravenous and eat too much. Last night i made a pig of myself and i felt like i had eaten two basketballs. lol. I have no energy, 0. Im majorly depressed, but i try to stay in contact with people. It helps my mood. Im thinking about using protein pwder in some kind of liquid. @katmandu, how is the Ensure? I heaved at the taste of Glucerna. Am also wondering about baby food. Ive got to lose wt. I would like to be thinner one more time before i die. Btw, my heart is fine but i still feel like death is near.

Oh I feel your pain. I take antidepressants but I can't take time released ones. I have to take one twice a day that is a fast acting one. It does help my depression which comes along with being sick. I was sick and nauseated 24/7 for 4 yrs before I got a diagnosis. I'm like you I don't always feel like eating so that's why I drink Ensure. I prefer the dark chocolate Ensure plus, it's not bad but I make myself drink it. I did quit smoking after my pacemaker was implanted but was so miserable because like you I put on a lot of weight and was miserable, so I started smoking again and lost weight. I know that's not good either but I was so depressed. Please don't give up I'll be 62 in a week and I'm still hanging in there, have you considered getting the pacemaker? Kathy

@katmandu, hi! No dr has ever mentioned it to me. Is it reverseable? Besides it making me sick, you know what i hate most of all? My bloated, distended belly. And if i dont eat it doesnt get so bloated. Its always going to be big i guess but the first part of me to enter the room is my stomach. It is so depressing to see all the cute clothes i could be wearing if it wasnt for my stomach. I want to cry, but i cant. I feel like i dont have any tears left. And i can forget about men. Sorry to turn morbid.

My dog is trying to get my attention by being naughty. Hes so cute, my littlest angel.
Thank you so much for responding. I will try some of the things you suggested. Feel free to write any time. I enjoy talking to people.
Love to you, Judy

@katmandoo and @dannybegood1

I wholeheartebly agree with @katmandoo's eating suggestions - eating frequent, small meals is a great idea. Fish, eggs, chicken are great sources of easily digestible protein. The dark chocolate Ensure it really good, because you get a good amount of protein and lots of vitamins in a tasty drink. I keep frozen bananas in the freezer and add a 1/2 a banana, put it in a blender and get some digestible fiber that way as well.

It takes a while to develop new eating habits, but when you consider the alternative and the symptoms that come about if you stay with your former eating plans, it is well worth the effort. Having had 3 surgeries of the upper digestive tract I have learned that the amount of food that is swallowed really affects the way I feel.

Judy, the pacemaker is implanted under the skin next to your stomach and has leads leading to the stomach to make it work. It has a battery that the Dr can turn up or down to adjust your nausea. Kind of like a heart pacemaker but for your stomach. Your stomach bloat is probably from eating gassy foods so watch eating certain foods like cauliflower, broccoli which you shouldn't eat at all. If you can eat creamy peanut butter that's a good source of protein and also hard boiled eggs. I can handle them ok. I had a nissen fundiplication also and a pylori plasti done when they put in my pacemaker but I don't recommend that, it made my esophagus so tight I couldn't burp, belch or vomit. The Dr accidentally cut my spleen so I lost it also and now from losing it my immune system is compromised. I also have hypothyroidism and take synthroid, forgot to tell you that. Kathy

Can you tell me more about these gummies? I've had trouble with raw vegetables and several cooked ones and have worried about vitamin deficiencies.

If you want to give me your email or phone number I can have someone give you the information about it. They are not a salesperson they just give you info to decide for yourself. I started the gummies about 3 weeks ago so I can get the vegetables and fruit I need. Kathy

Hi I've been using juice plus capsules about a year. I have issues with my stomach too and raw fruits and veggies bother me too. I have ulcers Barrett's esophagus colon polyps and diverticulosis. My skin hair and nails have improved since I'm on it. Hope you like them. Didn't know they had the gummies thanks for that info.

Hi I'm hypo thyroid too. Sounds like you need more thyroid hormone. There is a web site called health unlocked and other people on there have the same health issues. They have one for thyroid one for blood disease etc. I have found the help I have gotten with my thyroid so valuable. I now know each vitamin supplements can help with my thyroid food to avoid etc. it has helped me. I also avoid gluten and have lost 13 lbs. doing that. Hope this helps. Would be glad to help you any way I can. Lynn
