Dermatomyositis

I have recently been diagnosed with Dermatomyositis and Polymositis. After doing a lot of reading it looks like they are practically the same disease. My ANA levels were "astronomical" per the doctors explanation. I will be seeing him again on the 23rd and will be sure to ask for copies of the reports and will have numbers to share.

I am just looking for anyone who may be diagnosed with the same. All I know is the doctor told me it's rare and we found it while looking for something else, which I was negative for.

We are a Christian family and I am not offended by anyone speaking about their faith/beliefs whether or not they are believers. I do ask that, no matter the belief, you respect each other and myself in your responses. Thank you.

I too was recently diagnosed with dermatomyositis. Im almost 54. I was stopped dead in my tracks with this.... looking for any info to help me understand this disease

I also has been diagnosed with Polymyositis. I was an active person but I end up an wheelchair from the disease.

I had a girlfriend that had poly myosotis took 1year to diagnose her disease she had so much pain. Emarend was a drug that helped her the most probably not spelled right God bless you I'm praying for you
