I'm so sorry to hear that. In 9/09 I was given 10ths to live and I'm still here and fighting it! I still work and have a normal life. Feel free to message or email me with any questions. Praying for you, Ellen

not many symptoms, had a seizure and it was discovered. Been on meds ever since. Been through one round of chemo to date. He just started college so his diet may be a little suspect probably.

Thanks for the response, sounds like you have been through alot and am glad things a working out. He is doing pretty, I think. Just not sure at what point seeking a second opinion comes into play? Obviously want what is best for him and feel pretty good about the care he is getting but at the same time don't want to look back and have regrets.

My son dx w astrocytoma at age 6. He is still living but is extremely disabled. Very low quality of life. I blame a large portion of this on the large doses of radiation that we were recommended at Nemours. this was 24 yrs ago. If you have any questions I'd be happy ot answer. I am sorry you are having to deal with this. It is most upsetting to see your children suffer and you cant just kiss the problems away as we could wehn they were small.

what is his prognosis?? I know this discussion was back in November...but I had a glioma removed at Mayo....it was a mixture of the asto and the oligo. Had 28 day of radiation too. What grade was it??? Talk to Brian O'neil at Mayo in Mn.
He is the GURU of all of this!
