Lung cancer with joints and muscles sore.

Posted by richcolleen @richcolleen, Apr 10, 2020

I have stage 4 lung cancer which has spread before caught. What I’m wondering if anyone has problems with all joints sore? I was on chemo and immune therapy 8 months and since (I quit chemo due to very sick days) been on just immune therapy and felt pretty good until the last week.

@richcolleen- Good morning. How are you feeling today? Are you still achy? Have you asked your Oncologist about your symptoms? How long ago did you quit chemo?

Good afternoon! Feeling pretty decent but still have aches. St. Cloud oncologist doesn’t say much. My April 20th appointment at Mayo got changed till June 1st and 2nd. I quit chemo end of November and just on immunotherapy and feel good except for a day and half of bow outs. Lots of energy and no nausea. Quality is much better. Will see in June when scans are to be done. But thanks 🙏🏻 for asking and how are you doing? 😏

@richcolleen- Good morning. I'm really starting to feel claustrophobic.I think that everyone has spring fever! I have my next scan in mid-June. I really hope that things will be more open by then, for both of us! I'm glad that you are feeling better. It's a very hard call to stop treatments, but your quality of life is more important, I think. Why not try and ask the infusion nurse why you felt so achy? They often seem to know more than Oncologists because they hear complaints and questions more often.

@shortshot80, please meet @richcolleen. This is the Colleen that @merpreb was referring to (not me). @richcolleen is living with stage 4 lung cancer also.

In reply to @richcolleen I’m so sorry you are having the discomfort your having with sore muscles & joints. I too have this however I am on my chemo pills Alectinib. I believe these symptoms are from my medications as I’ve never had them prior to starting my treatment for stage 4 nonsmall cell lung cancer. I never get any response from my oncologist or palliative care. We did lower my dose in Nov which helped a lot! I soak in epsom salts baths which if nothing else feels comforting. If I discover anything that helps I’ll let you know. Take care.

My Dr. (regular) wanted to give me muscle relaxers. Should have agreed. Have oncologists here but he is worthless. Get Keytruda every 21 days. Per Dr at Mayo.
Have another appointment June 1st and 2nd for scans, blood work and Dr. at Mayo. Usually every 3 months but with Coronavirus will be 5 months. Which was ok with me. Trying to find safe meals and hotels durning this time.

@richcolleen - My oncologist advised me to take Claritin when I was on Opdivo for years for those aching body parts. Maybe you could call and ask about this.
