Hi, @unclejesse - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Just wondering if you could share more about what the doctor's reasoning was about why he it she thought you had a stroke and also why you don't think you did?

Hi, @unclejesse - just wanted to say hello and also inquire what is happening recently with the clogged artery in your neck and the pain in your chest and left arm? How are you feeling? Is your insurance company still saying they don't think you need more tests?

Why would you allow your health to be determined by the insurance company? Please follow your doctor’s advice and have the insurance papers filled out accordingly. Please report the insurance company to your Congress person and have them review the insurance company which gives medical advice.

By any chance did your work up include a CT of brain or an MRI of brain? I recently had a stroke and thought it was an ocular migraine so didn't go to the hospital until the following day. My right arm and leg were completely useless. They did the CT scan which showed no bleeding, but the MRI did show an acute thalamic stroke. Part of my work up now is to have a 2-week EKG to be sure I don't have a heart problem causing this. I would suggest you ask your doctor a few more questions and also ask for a copy of your records. Please find out more information for your own heath and safety sake. All the best to you.
