Program that connects patients with survivors?

Posted by ahurlbert30 @ahurlbert30, Nov 4, 2020

I remember when I was first at mayo they told me about a program that would line you us with someone who is a survivor or the same or similar type of cancer that you have, does anyone know how I can get in touch with that service? I’m looking for someone with tnbc brca 1 positive. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to deal with things once treatment and surgery are done and there’s nothing more I can do to prevent reoccurrence.

Hi @ahurlbert30, I think you may be referring to the Pink Ribbon Mentorship. Read more about it here: https://www.jtjmn.org/

American cancer does that and gives u choice of women who are peers with a similar history
The peers write a little bit of their philosophy and who they are for instance one woman was an executive in New York the other was a very religious southerner so that you can find a philosophy that seems to match
