Neuropathy Medications

Posted by sunnyflower @sunnyflower, Aug 28, 2020

Hello, read this artical from the FDA dated January 30th, 2020, about dangers of Gabapentin, Lyrica and other drugs. I thought it worthy of our attention : https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-warns-about-serious-breathing-problems-seizure-and-nerve-pain-medicines-gabapentin-neurontin
Warmest regards, Sunnyflower 🙏

Thank you so much for reaching out. I had about 5 gallon charcoal bags administered through a nasal tube. They tell you to keep swapping the vomit and keep it down. The doctor left and said the pills were too digested to save me (about 200 sleeping pills) and I never saw him again. I’ll never forget the nurse saying I was going to make it and pulling pulverized bits of sleeping pills from my vomit.

How terribly awful, I am so sorry for the experience you went through as a result of taking sleeping pills. I agree with avmcbellar, some doctors know pretty much nothing, which is spelled M-E-D-I-O-C-R-E. Then there are the ones that are really really sharp. God forbid you are dealt with by one of the know nothings, which it sounds like you were. I am so very glad you survived and are here with us my dear. Best, Hank

@bustrbrwn22 Thank you for sharing, I now include you as one of my heroes, Like Hank and Jim you have been to the edge and back. I am glad to see you back. Stay close to this community at Mayo Connect and know sometimes you will need to fire those Mediocre practitioners or at least move one.
Keep focused on the moment. Not yesterday, not tomorrow. but now. Smile. David

It was my own fault. 24 in love with a 45 year old who dumped me because he said I wouldn’t stay with him cause I was too pretty and his ex-wife didn’t have that choice. In retrospect I think I was taken advantage of - he was my “first”. I still hold love for him in my heart.

David, yes, @bustrbrwn22 is definitely on my list of heroes (it's starting to get a little long actually). But let me just say, I include YOU as one of my MAJOR heroes!!!! I have just reread through your posts since Feb. 2019. You, sir, have A SERIOUS LOT on your plate. I am in awe of what you deal with! I am so sorry for all of your PN issues that make it so difficult for you to get around and drive. And your eye problems are epic! Just epic! I didn't grasp most of what you told Rachel in your post to her about your eye issues (I am no clinician) and it seemed like she didn't either. And she herself has A LOT of eye issues. I don't mean to be effusive, it's not all that becoming I know, but you my friend deserve some CREDIT AND RECOGNITION for the hell you have had to put up with. The dignity and humility with which you express yourself speaks volumes about your character. I would be happy to know you personally anywhere, anytime. David, you are a gentleman of the highest order in my opinion. My very best to you sir, Hank

@jesfactsmon , Hank I knew there was something I liked about you. You have me going to my dictionary and learning new words (effusive=unrestrained) and I totally like learning new vocabulary. I am so proud of folks like you, Jim and @bustrbrwn22 . Its true I have my share of difficulties but I find solace in learning from folks like you. You have taken on a mission to help your wife and inadvertently discovered that your purpose extends to many Mayo Connect people. You see their suffering, honor it , and then give each person individual help. I see the time you devote to others. I commend you, and Thank You for your many kind words. I'd be happy to be called your friend. David

@phoenix0509 Thank-you for YOUR kind words David. I'd just like to say that I would love it if you could post your full story in the member journey stories discussion. You did write a post in January that is very interesting, but a full blown description of what you have been through since it all started would be most welcome, not just to me but to everybody.

Waking up in the morning to see what anyone has posted since the day before has become a real treat for me. I wish better days for you and all pain sufferers here. You guys kill me (in the best way imaginable). Hank

Hi Hank, thanks for the reminder to look at people's profiles. I need to re-visit my own. I was such a chicken to say very much about myself when I was so new. I 'm surprised that I am writing anything bc I' m so private and leary of online anything!

You and the members have helped me with that immensely!

Hope you and Linda have a special day. Please give her my best.

Warm regards, Sunnyflower. 🤗
