Need help: Weaned off antidepressants and considering pregnancy

Posted by vishs @vishs, Jun 28, 2020

I am 33 year old female. I had mild depression since 2014. I was taking antidepressants like sertraline, Desvenlafaxine and aripiprazole. Since i was ok i am off from these pills since 1 month with my psychiatrist’s advise. My confusion is should i get pregnant if i am not taking medicines now or there are still chances for the side effects because of the use of these pills in past?

This is a very good question! Have you spoken to your primary doctor about this? I will be interested to hear what the answer may be.

@vishs I'd like to add my welcome to connect with @gingerw . I would also talk to you gyn to get there opinion also . I would think that when your off the meds your are better and that would be the time to try to get pregnant that's just my opinion but check with the Dr's first . Don't go by my opinion
