Digestive issues, weird sensations

Posted by bumble81 @bumble81, Apr 14, 2020

I started having digestive issues last fall. By December I was told I had bilary dyskenisa and had my gallbladder removed.
That did not fix my problems.
I sometimes have traditional heartburn but mostly I have sour stomach and stomach pain mostly middle immediately below sternum and to the left. Increases after eating. I often feel like food did not make it into my stomach. Like it's stuck down there.

I will get this weird fast quiver like spasm deep inside. I can feel it with my hand I push down and so can my husband and it goes on for hours at a time. Anyone have that before? It's very strange but something inside is not working properly. I also have postprandial hypotension and intermittent difficulty swallowing.

My blood tests show slightly elevated liver enzymes but doc said they are not dangerously high. My stool is frequently bright yellow and liquid:(

Also I cannot seem to get a straight answer but do those of you with experience with ulcers did it cause excessive burping?

Hi @bumble81, sorry to hear about your recent struggle with digestive issues, stomach pain and feeling like food is getting stuck. It is hard to function on a daily basis with those symptoms and going undiagnosed just gets frustrating after a while. I know because I have had similar issues and I found out that mine were caused by a perforation of my abdominal wall due to ulcers. The excessive belching can definitely be ulcer related as that could be a sign of an infection in the stomach lining. You will see @jimhd @pumpsi @sickvick @kaforester3 and @engelee discuss similar problems in this group.
Is the doctor you are currently seeing a Gastroenterologist? Have they done an endoscopy on you or put you on any medication to counteract your symptoms?

Hi Bumble81, sorry to hear about your stomach problems. Before I was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer I had indigestion after eating. I also would vomit after eating Mexican food or onions. I just ignored it. I was cutting the grass one day and my heart started pounding out of my chest. I thought I was having a heart attack. I end up in the hospital with internal bleeding. They did a egd endoscopy and found a hole which they cauterized. My hemoglobin was down to 7 which is low. After the endoscopy they found a infection of the stomach lining and that I have Barrett's. Now I'm on a low acid diet and take pantaprazole daily. Ulcer is fine now but now I have Barrett's. No burping problems for me ever.
Good luck finding out what ails you.

I had an endoscopy in 2015 which showed past ulcers but normal otherwise. I take pepcid and a lot of tums for now..

Doc said it sounds like gastroparisis. She prescribed me buspar but I can't take it because it can cause bicarbonate loss which is what my renal tubular acidosis already causes.
