Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Mar 16, 2020

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@mcryan

My daughter had tumor removed from her brain. It was tested and found to have, " MGMT Promoter Methylation" . Does that mean I carry this or(logic) my wife carries.

Hello @mcryan -- I not sure anyone here can answer your question. There is another discussion where other members are discussing similar questions. I'm tagging our Director @colleenyoung to see if we can move your post to the following discussion:

> Groups > Brain Tumor > Glioblastoma Grade 4 -- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/glioblastoma-grade-4/

@donnamar posted in the discussion MGMT methylation status (sequencing) promoter methylation not detected and may be able to provide more information for you. Also, you may be interested in the following article on the topic.

How is your daughter doing now that the tumor has been removed?

Well, the sun is out, it's about 33 degrees outside and it's looking like it's time to refill the bird feeder. They do seem to love the peanut suet nuggets. Happy Thursday to all those hunkered down with loved ones. May your day be full of life's beautiful paintings where ever you find them. This was one of mine that reminded me that my glass is half full and not half empty! -- although his glass is looking mighty empty now 🙂

Good morning fellow re-sectioners (and you lookey lous) From the shores of Lake Sacajewea in Longview, Washington, Virgo 1952 brings you “A” photo of wildlife (John, I did it! A square photo, who knew!!!) I had several more, but haven’t mastered loading multiple photos yet☹️ But, I love a challenge. @lioness no ducklings yet, but I , virgo, will remain diligent in my walks scoping out my surroundings in hopes of seeing a duck family gliding through lake water or snacking on a nearby shore. I have come across heron, a lot of turtles, and one early evening a bald eagle slammed into the water and rose with a silvery trout in it’s talons. Oh yes, that bald eagle scared the crap out of me (colon joke!)🤣🤣🤣) Stay tuned people. More to come. Virgo 1952 forever diligent in my quest. (hey John, is there a way to download multiple photos at one time????) thank you sir. Have a great day Everyone 😀

Nice photo @virgo1952! Glad to see you were able to update your profile picture. To add more than one photo you just need to Choose File button again after you do the first photo.
