To those that suffer from abnormal sensation, what helps to relieve the sensations? What have you tried? What has helped or worsened your symptoms?

I agree with you Lori Renee...not normal. I can't use it during the day because I hate the way it makes me feel. Bedtime only. Tried and tried again, when I'm desperate for help but all in all, just not for me. Currently I'm trying to manage my body as best I can and sticking with hydro, heat and rest. Sucky way to live. I am trapped in my body and my mind wants to live as normal.

@rwinney Rachel, I can no longer be without marijuana or Kratom. I do not even know if it's purely physical, or has become partly emotional/mental from becoming utterly worn out from dealing with pain. I know I have to have that stuff, and it is scarey to me. Have I become addicted? Does it matter? Is marijuana really safe? But without it, the pain can be like child birth, maybe worse. So what am I to do? The whole thing sucks. Marijuana is not the answer to pain. Like you said so perfectly, we are trapped in our bodies, but our minds want to live as normal. We want to just fly free of sickness. It is becoming that I feel more normal, more like my natural, healthy self when I have marijuana in me. The me without it is in a constant struggle, with the beast of pain winning the battle. I feel our vitality. I feel our illness. Sometimes I hate feeling....Lori

@lorirenee1 I'm so glad you are finding relief by any means you feel right about. It's the most important part for your soul.

@beth11 Yes, foot health is imperative. Amazing, how much I have found that out. As far as acupuncture, it did nothing for me at all. Nor did cold laser help me. Only things that help are marijuana, cbd oil, and Kratom. Not a good way to live, though. I am getting used to the feel of marijuana, and it does help a lot. Just not a way to live a normal life....

Lori,

My view on marijuana is that there are now numerous scientific studies (done by the NIH and others) investigating the effectiveness and safety of medical marijuana in a variety of diseases and conditions including neurological disorders. There is no reason to view it differently than other methods of treating illness.

@beth11 It helps to hear what people think of marijuana on a moral level, at least for me. It may be this is my life now! forever! The only way for me to have a "normal" life is to alter it a bit with marijuana. It is a very hard adjustment for my brain to make, I almost fault myself. Crazy. But it is very good to just think of it as a medicine. Lori R.

Marijuana is medicine and has helped many people with myriad medical issues. Back in the early 1980s and 1990s I worked with people with AIDS and it helped to relieve their pain. Now I use medical marijuana to attenuate my pain and it helps me to sleep at night. It should be decriminalized in all 50 states.

What is causing Paresthesia?

They took me off Lisinopril I had it real bad at the time then. I would get it all over my body. Sometimes it would fire like two or three times in the same spot. Like I said I get it all over my body. Legs, back, arms, shoulders, neck, butt. It would be fine then at once it will hit then like maybe 60 minutes to a day later it will just all of a sudden clear up as fast as it came until next time. It has been a lot better since I have been off the Lisinopril.

I also have type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. It even comes on when my sugar is low like 108. My high blood pressure is new could it be related to that? I have taken aspirin but it doesn't seem to help. Should I take something else.

@dbar48 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, a place to give and get support.

This sounds like a painful condition. I moved your question to an existing discussion where members are talking about this topic. This way you can have the best chance of connecting with other members like@beth11 @maryv449 @lorirenee1 @helennicola for information, suggestions, and support.

May I ask what your provider has suggested as a medication or treatment for your symptoms?

@dbar48 I am not and Connect members are not qualified to suggest tests. May 6th is a long way. Are you able to drive to a bigger city to be seen sooner?

That is the big city about 45 minutes away. I live out in the country and much isn't available here. Ya I can drive it's just uncomfortable.
